Checking off that productivity app to-do list

My JetPack plugin on WordPress tells me that there were a whopping three views on my blog a couple of weeks ago. I really want to know who was here, because this is my little corner of the Internet where I can truly be anonymous?! Ahh, it’s a little nerve-wracking that people visited my blog from somewhere. I am pretty sure I took this off all search engines, so this shouldn’t be happening.

I haven’t updated my blog in so long, there’s a prompt at the top of my WordPress dashboard advising me to update the script/software to WordPress 4.0. That’s how long I haven’t updated my blog. It’s a good thing I didn’t invest in a ThemeForest theme like I had originally wanted to way back earlier this year because wouldn’t that have been a waste of $50.

Anyhow, I’m blogging today to plug a new blog I started – I know, I know, a new blog?! When I haven’t updated this one in months?! This one is different. (“That’s what they all say.”) This one is a news blog that I started at the end of September because I realized that there is a niche in the English-speaking K-Pop world that needs to be filled, and I am the person to do it.

New website projects

Yesterday, I tweeted about getting a personal domain name, and today, I have done it. This blog will soon be directed as wendykwan.ca! This is a big step for me as I’ve used singtothesky.org for years and years – and before that, it was au-contraire.org – but hopefully this will be the beginning of where I start branding myself online. Although if I were to be honest, I feel online personal branding can be such an unauthentic way because you have to make sure you publish a professional marketable version of yourself. Hopefully, even with the new domain name, my blog will still be able to represent 100% of me.

I also thought about starting a new (and different) blog yesterday. Now that I have the whole summer ahead of me – the rest of my life too! – I now have the time to start the projects I’ve always wanted to start.
